There are a lot of novellas for this series. It's a bit expensive to buy them all as they're almost the same price as a full novel. Are they important to the central plot? Is it recommended to read them in chronological order? Is there any compilation of the short stories released?

So far, Of Sand & Malice Made and The Tattered Prince & the Demon Veiled both had important elements to understanding A Veil of Spears. I went straight from Blood Upon the Sand to Veil and felt like I was missing something, so I stopped and read the novellas. I just started Brightwine Flows so I'm not sure how important it is to the larger storyline. Hope this helps! (less)
