At one point in the book, the killer mentions that he likes to take something from the victim’s house and put it somewhere else so that she panics. He says that most people would call the police of a friend but, surprisingly these girls make themselves vulnerable by walking alone. (less)

Why does a police officer need to park outside a random cafe to access wifi to browse a website on his tablet? Hot spotting from phones has been a thing for a decade before this part of the book.
