From what I see in the reviews, this book ends on a cliffhanger - and I TOTALLY HATE CLIFFHANGERS!!!! Is it worth reading anyway? Or am I better to wait until the next one comes out?

After reading this I realized I don't know where he other son of darkness is. I've complete forgotten this so please correct/remind me as needed. There's two sons of darkness (?) And one is in chains. Where is the other one? Is he alive?
