For someone who was/is still a huge fan of the TV series and has identified all the characters and storylines within as "Christy," would it be difficult for me to read the original novel? I think I would probably still enjoy it, but would love to hear others' thoughts!

The book was fabulous, and I'm now rereading it as an audiobook, narrated by the actress that played Christy in the show. Fantastic narration. Love both. Wish I could get my hands on the show to watch again.(less)

I read this book when I was a teen. My 13 yr old just finished it and loved it just as much as I did. There is a series on Amazon/ Audible called the "Christy Series" adapted from Catherine Marshall's Christy. It is a 12 book series, adaptation by C. Archer. Has anyone read this series? Is is as good as the original series?

I was given the first book in the series as a child and no longer have it but am trying to track down another copy...apparently this book is different from the series! I don't know how the series compares to the original novel, but when I was about nine or so I re-read the first book of the series over and over. I read way ahead of my age when I was a kid, so it'll likely be fine for your 13-year-old. Hope you can find some copies of these (and that I can as well)!(less)

BUT... there are now other Christy books written by other authors that continue to tell stories about Cutter Gap citizens. (less)
