My 8,5 yo niece loves owls and ahead of her age in reading skills. I'd like to give this book to her as a gift, but I'd like to know something more about it first. How much is death present in the story? She's having trouble coping with the idea of death, and I wonder if this book might be helpful for her or rather too dark. Also, what age would you recommend it for? Thanks!!
