If you account that as blasphemy, then leave now.

Non-Christian religions are not touched upon.

As for the "four-letter" taboo words, what you would certainly call "foul language", they are absent from the present entry (I searched the Kindle copy) and possibly from all of Perry's Victorians, because they were not used casually in polite company at that time. Whether she represents the impolite as using them I have not noticed; if she does, I'm sure it's appropriate.

The word "whore" does occur, in literal use, as a reported false accusation in this book. Certainly Hester Monk nurses women working as prostitutes and makes no bones about it. And brothels show up periodically, because murders sooner or later intersect everything.

Finally. While I understand your position on the matter and defend your right to take it, I also find it massively silly. I can sympathize with being disgusted enough by pervasive ugly language to avoid it; that's reasonable esthetics. But to allow a few appropriate occurrences of one or another taboo words to make you ban an author is prudish overreaction.(less)
