This is a made-up fantasy world, but I'm having a hard time understanding how the author justifies having "eclairs" in this world if there is no France? If you want there to be an "eclair" like dessert why not describe it as such: "a light pastry filled with cream and covered in chocolate" ta-da.

im sensing an enemies to lovers trope in this one and i think im gonna love it so much. Cant wait to read it! Just picked up the second book in the Daughter of the pirate king and im obssessed with the writing, the characters and the world building! I just want to ask if this is going to be a continuetion of this story with the shadow king or is it planned solely as a stand-alone?

A few months ago, Tricia Levenseller announced that there would be a second book in the series, but it follows Alessandra's sister and they can probably both be read as stand-alones. (less)
