However, the events of The Widow are refere…moreThe Child is not a sequel to The Widow--they are stand-alone books that share some of the same characters. However, the events of The Widow are referenced 2 or 3 times in The Child, so it might help to read The Widow first just for some minor context. But really, you should just read The Widow because it's great! (although I liked The Child even better!) Actually--you should LISTEN to both stories because the voice actors are top notch--really amazing! (less)
