I'm currently reading Graceling right now, and I can't help but notice striking similarities: the use of the word "Grace" for special gifts, and those that have heterochromia/two eye colors are special. Was this inspired by Graceling or???

I was inspired to use eye colour to denote ability due to the phrase 'eyes are the windows into the soul'. And the term 'Graced' was actually decided on between my agent and myself. (less)
