I wanted to purchase the Kindle edition of the Reluctant but only George VI is offered in that format. On the other hand, there is a 1998 review for George VI on Amazon, only eight years after the Reluctant's publishing date. Maybe George VI is an updated version of Reluctant. Did you live in his time? He never wanted to be a king, but his older brother, David resigned from kingship because he allegedly couldn't run the UK without the support of the woman he loved, a twice divorced woman. It is a very good book. He, Winston Churchill, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt saved Western Civilization, in my opinion.

Why on earth did Penguin title both Bradford’s and Ziegler’s books the same? I know that Ziegler’s book is part of the Penguin Monarchs series and only the Kindle version of Bradford’s book (not the print ones) is titled “George VI: The Dutiful King”, but there’s confusion as a result. Pfft!

Is this the best book to learn about King George VI? I've seen a few interesting ones on Amazon and not sure which would be the most compelling and informative. Thanks, Bob in Rochester NY
