Belleofbooks I agree with Carrie (see her response below) and would go one step further to suggest that her reasons for sleeping with this man so soon after meetin…moreI agree with Carrie (see her response below) and would go one step further to suggest that her reasons for sleeping with this man so soon after meeting him are consistent with her reasons for wanting to be a pilot; risk taking, searching for freedom and a desire to not be seen as a "typical" female of her time. I understand your concern Dicksie (great name by the way!) but I believe you'll see this choice as consistent with the character. (less)

Jerilyn It is historical fiction featuring strong female characters. It is told as a first person narrative from the female protagonist viewpoint.
