I found this book on a list devoted to "alien heroines." Yet the description of the book and all the reviews make it clear that the heroine of this book is decidedly human. Does this book include a subplot involving an alien heroine? Do any of Sinclair's other books feature an alien heroine at their center?
Jennifer Yes, "Accidental Goddess". Gillaine is a different race to the majority of this book's cast.

"Down Home Zombie Blues" Set on this Earth with a non earth but human heroine.
Both women are human, not humanoid.
"Gabriel's Ghost" has some major humanoid characters, but they are male.
I hope that helps.
IMO Games of Command is Sinclair's best book.(less)
