They may not be mentioned by name in book 1, but it is pretty heavily implied that multiple Consorts are an accepted part of pirate life, and moreover, that most expect her to take multiple Consorts. Reaper is even referred to as her "first". Book 2 will make this eventuality even more clear. I avoided the use of the word "menage" because 1. Menage implies 3, and Mercy will be in a quad eventually, and 2. in book genre terms, the phrase "reverse harem" applies to books that focus on the emotional romantic relationship between one heroine and 3 or more men, including the expected "HEA" ending for the romance, while menage is used in both erotica and romance, and does not always require the HEA. When I first published Pirate Nemesis, the term "reverse harem" was all but unknown - I certainly didn't know it existed as a genre trope, even though this relationship for Mercy has been the plan since the series' inception a decade ago. As the focus for this series is definitely on Mercy's arc as a protagonist including her romance with all three men, reverse harem was the more appropriate term in this case. This is why the text on Amazon is updated to indicate reverse harem, while Goodreads says the old wording (because I didn't think to update it here as well!) Hope that helps! :)(less)
