Jennifer One of the characters is struggling with telling people in his life that he is gay and it causes him pretty severe anguish & self-destructive behavior…moreOne of the characters is struggling with telling people in his life that he is gay and it causes him pretty severe anguish & self-destructive behavior. In a flashback sequence, you see him a bit happier (really trying to do this without spoilers!) and later in the book some resolution does occur. <spoiler>Jason does find a boyfriend during the family's summer on the Cape but the death of the boy sends Jason reeling again. And Jason does finally come out to his sister before the end of the story.</spoiler> This is one storyline among the several.(less)
