Guys, I think I found it!

I am reading the book right now and could not make peace with the fact that I don't know what a dahitan is, even after spending so much of my life loitering around bakeries in Panchgani, Pune and Bombay. A quick google search led me to this question here and I just had to find out what this mysterious sweet thing is that even Parsis don't recognise.

After some major scouring of the internet with various combinations and crossing out stuff that didn't quite fit the description of what one could find at a bakery - I finally landed on this beauty: http://www.parsicuisine.com/parsi-dah...

I am pretty sure that this is what it is; the recipe matches the description in the book :)

I'm super interested in reading this! Is it a bit reminescent of Agatha Christie, or like a cozy mystery? Nothing too disturbing, but still a taste of danger?

I have just started reading this book. A story set in India is always lots of fun especially since I am Indian. It is always more interesting when food is mentioned. I read "Mr Mistry buttered his puri"! Never, ever in my 63+ years have I heard of ANYONE applying butter to their puris. Yes, in North India butter is served with paratha. Is it a Parsi thing to butter your puri?
