For diehard Dean Koontz fans: is this book (and The Silent Corner) a true 'Dean Koontz thriller"? I was so utterly disappointed when he started writing those silly Odd Thomas books, that I gave up. But being a fan of his books since he started writing in the seventies, I still miss not buying 'the new Koontz' every year. So please let me know: should I take up these books?

Why is Koontz so obsessed with fire? It seems like all of his bad guys go up in flames at the end of the story.
