Neil Saltmarsh Elizabeth, I don't think there are really any answers that could adequately answer that question, but maybe, we see history as being outside of God's …moreElizabeth, I don't think there are really any answers that could adequately answer that question, but maybe, we see history as being outside of God's influence, that is secular, when in fact all and everything is a part of God. It seems hard and harsh and I am in no way saying that God causes these things, but all things are reconciled through Jesus even the nasty events of life. As a person who has endured child abuse, I can only say that despite my warped formation of character, God has used it for good both for me and I pray for others in distress. I feel loved by a Father, who is very unlike my own biological father. How could I forgive? It is only through the experience of being forgiven myself for so many things, and knowing that forgiveness frees me to live better. Just some thoughts.(less)
