I'm about halfway through this book - does the author address the problems with pre-Enlightenment society that would have made possible this revolution in how we perceive people and their role in the world in the first place? What decisions/ poor leadership/ etc made people receptive to this idea that we need to fundamentally shift our way of understanding humanity?
