There are a few gruesome scenes however and if the teen is not familiar with violence (such as in movies or other books) it might be startling. Romance is minimal with only a couple of kisses throughout the book and other mentions. Overall I'd give -
Romance - 3/10
Gore - 6/10
Then again this is just my opinion! Sorry not sorry if you/child gets traumatized!(less)
