Everything is mostly tied together so it really depends on whether or not you want to read a cliffhanger but it isn't the biggest one ever.

So yes! You can read this is a standalone and if you don't want the cliffhanger skip the epilogue. (less)

The order of these books is very confusing. Simon & Schuster published Book #1 in 2018 and now they have released what they are calling Book #2 (The Forbidden Expedition) on 11/12/19. There appear to be two other volumes on Goodreads called Book #2 (Explorers on Witch Mountain) & Book #3 (Explorers on Black Ice Bridge). Does anyone know the order these books should be read in and why the numbering is so off?
