I think that the Clinton campaign knew that the electoral college existed -- the electoral college has been part of the government for 200-plus years. The Clinton campaign screwed up, big-time, because it took big groups of voters for granted (eg, in Wisconsin, in Michigan, etc) and insulted them to boot (remember the 'deplorables' comment?) and that's why Clinton managed to beat the odds and lose to Trump. Anyway, if you want to learn something about the electoral college, I suggest you read the US's Constitution. You can probably find a copy of it somewhere on-line. (less)

Where do you get "people don't matter"? The "popular vote" advantage to HRC you love to reference comes from California. As someone else correctly pointed out, our founding fathers knew a pure democracy (majority rule) has never been successful and so they devised a way in which the states elected the President, the number of votes to be determined by the citizens of that state. Otherwise, the over populated states would determine the outcome of national elections. I think you may want to take a civics course at your community college. (less)
