I haven't read either of the books and was hoping to find an answer to this question and then I found some on the page for Musashi.

Since I haven't read it I can't answer the question, but I'll summarise what the other answers say:
(paraphrasing)
-- It doesn't really matter, because they are stand-alone stories and will be enjoyed if read either way around.
-- Musashi was written first, but the story of Taiko is chronologically before Musashi.
-- Taiko is an epic that sets the scene of the whole era and culture.
-- Musashi is the story of one man and so has fewer characters.
-- Reading Taiko first will set the scene for Musashi in terms of context and culture.
-- Reading Musashi first is a more accessible option, since Taiko contains a lot of content.

That's the impression I got anyway but, like I said, I haven't read either of them and I recommend you check out the full answers on the page for Musashi.
As for me, I think I'll try Musashi first, and then Taiko. There is one reason for that. On this website, Musashi has a higher rating than Taiko as well as a higher number of people who have read it. If I could only read one of them then I'd go for Musashi based on that fact. And since I can't guarantee that I'll manage to read both of them, the least I can do is get the best one out of the way.
Since tomorrow never comes you might as well save the best for today.(less)
