Would you describe this as a memoir or just pure essays?

Jennifer I think Le Guin would find that question just as ridiculous as those on the Harvard survey.

The book is a collection of Essays. The essays reveal a great writer with an interesting point of view on the mundane to the important life events, A woman of our times. She is strong, opinionated, controversial and always interesting. For those who have read this book, do you agree?

Jim Definitely agree. Part One was particularly enlightening laced with great humor.

Why is this book not nominated for Best Memoir/Autobiography in the Goodreads Choice Awards? It's more deserving than a couple of the choices the site provided!

The Left Hand of Darkness, perhaps, or The Lathe of Heaven, or The Dispossessed. Earthsea was more accessible to me as a younger reader, but I've grown to appreciate the others more as I've begun to be able to understand them more deeply.(less)
