As a neurologist who deals with mental illness, when reading the book I did not see a depressed young woman, I did see someone who was portrayed as depressed by her family for unclear reason. All her actions did not match the criteria for depression. Even her last meeting with the soccer coaches. She was pushed, indirectly, it seems. I do not believe the stress in college was it! Did you check?
