The word Archon is of Greek origin, and the concept of oracle originated in classical antiquity. If my memory serves me right, the architecture of the Island is also similar to that of Ancient Greece.

There's a desert, scorpions and the scribes use papyrus for writing. These elements were borrowed from Ancient Egypt.(less)
