The main character in The First Rule of Punk makes zines (handmade, collaged-and-hand-drawn journals that are sort of essays, sort of diary entries), and the zines she makes as she deals with the events in the book are included in the book. Some of her zines are informative and some are more personal, but they all add to the charm and voice of this book.(less)
