Yejide went to university but ended up as a hairdresser. I don't recall the book addressing her career choice, apart from explaining she did hair to supplement her income while studying at university. Was this ever explained?

We would have liked to know more, but that was as far as it took us, and it beautifully tied up the story of a motherless child giving birth to a motherless child, but then getting the chance to make the relationship good.(less)
