What is the significance of the title? This tale is not about a boy, but several characters.

It seemed that that one act was the pivot point: from the schoolmaster to Pohl, Yasia, her family/potential in laws, Myko, Ephraim, his wife and daughter, Arnold of the SS, and eventually to the baptism.(less)
