While at first it was startling to read a book that had 9/11 as a kick off point, I thought it was well written, and could follow the connection because of that initial encounter on that day.

Having been in college in PA for 9/11, I will never forget and will forever be bonded with my roommates and those I experienced the days following. I will never forget driving a friend home because her friend's parent died in the towers. I will never forget the grid lock from people traveling to NYC, Western PA, and DC.

So overall i think it was very realistic for the day and the age. It definitely brought me back(less)

This sounds a lot like "One Day" by David Nicholls. Can someone tell me if it's different enough to read, or just as depressing?

Both because he's not close by and she is with Darren. Also think of the books title or the title of Gabes photo book. Finally maybe the author was reading this when she was writing and/or it's her favorite book. Would be interested to know as well.(less)
