I believe t…moreThe issue of where the gold bars came from is never really addressed, but I assumed that it was one of the things that Carl was guilty of. I believe that he hid the gold and forgot about it as his dementia became worse. This would explain why he felt the need to pan for gold in unusual places like parking lots.(less)
