I was raised with that in my life so I'm not as bothered by the violence so much. If you're still worried however I recommend reading it first and then seeing if you think she'll be able to handle it.(less)

In my opinion this book was a light read with not too much difficult words or grammar.

I read this book after a few years of English class. Compared to other English books I've read (at the time and currently) this was quit a comfortable book to read; I barely had to look up any words.

I don't know your personal situation though, 'difficulty' is pretty subjective.
Try asking what she thinks about reading in foreign languages/English first. If your friend is open to trying to read in English I think this book is a great place to start. Good job at being a considerate friend! (less)
