But the rest seemed to me pretty normal considering the book was written over 150 years ago. Actually pretty good, even, i don't remember anything. But i read a german translation and i know that a lot of english translations, especially the older ones, are pretty bad and unreliable. Some of them changed a lot about the original texts. So maybe check what translation you got, it could be that if there's something really sexist in your book, it was the sexism of the translator. Anf if not, remember that a book from the 19th century will not have the same amounnt of diversity/women's rights as we have now. It's likely to come upon something sexist/homophobic/racist in old books. Important is to acknowledge it and see how it's wrong :) hope that helped(less)
