I hate spiders but I have to say that David's pet spiders make me want to rethink the whole fear I have of them. Did he make them pets out of boredom or was he also trying to overcome a fear of spiders?

Do you think the pre-fame Sedaris is a more likeable, forgiving guy, then the post-fame snot who can’t stand people talking on airplanes? And did the ironic twists to stories he tells all have the same pat sound? Didn’t the early endings seem more open and conclusion-less...and preferable?

Taking being annoyed with guy talking on airplane as an example I would not say his ‘fame’ has made him a snot. People expecting to talk on a plane especially from the very beginning are annoying, fame or not. I didn’t find the endings pat, and found the conclusions something that could be remunated on. And is often with his work, an idea one could use to analyze their own reality and experience.(less)

The majority are sex-related with some referring to body parts and functions as well as some that are racist.
