Nine (as a professor at the academy) and Dr. Malcoome are side characters and John Smith has a cameo but besides that we don't get any updates on the rest of the Loric or Adam.(less)

Four, and the rest of the original garde should be in the book, as teachers of the new garde. I think their role will be minimal though, and focus more on the new characters.(less)

I purchased this book on Audible, because I saw it featured in many stores. However, like an idiot, I didn't thoroughly read and had no idea that it was semi-related (or entirely related) to the 'I Am Number Four' series. Can I read this by itself or do I need to know what happened with the other books?

These are new characters and heroes with their own stories. Although i probably should mention that in the last few books there were a few minor characters that are some of the main characters in this book. I personally like "I am number four" series more, if you like this one i would recommend to try and read the rest of them as well but it depends on what kind of books you like. I'm really happy there is a spin off, i miss the old characters but i like the new ones too. Though i hoped we will see what exactly happened to Five... i liked him... :'( I'm just happy the story of Lorien isn't over yet. I just finished this book and i want to ask how many books there will be? Three or more? (Ps. Please don't kill off Caleb... like you did with Five 😢 )

I was hoping that he'd be in there too. I can't wait out more about the Fugitive Six in Fugitive Six. I really hope this helps. I hope that there are novellas with Five, John/ Marina, Ella, and the Mogs. I miss the old characters but I like the new ones too. I can't wait to know more about the Fugitive Six.(less)
