Can someone confirm when this book is supposed to be released? I've seen everything ranging from 11/28/17 (googlebooks), to 12/14/17 (publisher website) to 1/9/18 (amazon). Are these conflicting dates due to the different publication methods: Kindle/hardcover/paperback?

Genevieve Cogman I believe the UK publishing date is 14th December 2017, while the US publishing date is the 9th January 2018.

Is this the last book in the series?

Verena No. Genevieve Cogman has already confirmed, that there will be at least a 5th book in the series. Maybe even more :)

Is it required to read the previous volumes to understand this book? It really intrigues me but I haven't read the first three ones (since I only just heard of this one today).

Verena I would recommend to read the books in order, since there are reverences to previous events, and they are a very enjoyable reading.
