CHEMICAL CHANGE:
It is a permanent change.
During chemical change new substances are formed.
PHYSICAL CHANGE:
It is a temporary change.
During physical change no new substances are formed.
For example:
ICE when heated changes to water. Again when water is cooled down, ICE can be formed. Here, ice is changed to water first, and again it is reversed to its own state when cooled. This is physical change.
Tearing of paper is a chemical change because the state has been changed permanently and can't be reversed back to its previous state.(less)
