Is this book based on the original Star Trek series? It's my fave of the Star Trek universe. I love that they did a fan based stories in the 50th anniversary. I've read others in the series. Sometimes the fans do even better than the script writers on the shows. :D

There are 10 short stories, none of which occur in the Original Series era.

One is based on the original Star Trek movie era, but it primarily follows guest characters Eve McHuron (of "Mudd's Women") and Harry Mudd. Sulu makes a brief cameo as the captain of the Excelsior. The rest of the original series crew does not appear in this story, though some (including Kirk) are mentioned briefly.

"The Seen and the Unseen", though considered a TNG story, heavily involves Spock in that era.

Some other stories do contain additional references to TOS and even a few original crew cameos (which I won't spoil here).

The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager have three stories each (one of which is in the TNG movie era). No stories based on Enterprise or set during The Original Series.

Kelvin Timeline stories and stories based on novel-only series such as New Frontier were disallowed for this collection per the original rules.
