Given that one of the biggest problems adopted kids supposedly have (including Fly), is the feeling that they're not the parents' "real" child, and the fact that she really does seem to care about him, what on earth is Manon doing adopting him and then immediately (it seems) hankering after a child "of her own" - and not even discussing it with him before going through the IVF? That seems monumentally selfish to me.

As flawed as Manon is, as afraid of saying and doing the wrong thing with Fly, perhaps not having the best of parenting experience of her own, it is absolutely plausible that she wouldn't discuss it with a 12 year old male child she has a very short history with and even more plausible that she would deeply question her decision later. Hmmmm?(less)
