Can this be read when I have read book 1 in the series, but not the others? (I read the first one a few years ago and while I liked it, I'm not that interested in continuing the series. However, I do own a used copy of this one and if it can be read without the others I'll give it a go.)

I just finished the book and LOVED it! I read on Anne's website though where she asks the readers this question: "Have any of you connected Veronica's Veil to Lestat's unusual assault on Dora after his freedom from Memnoch?
