I can't help but express myself through fiction and though I've tried many genres the most natural flow comes to me in fantasy or poetry. I had a lot of help when I first started drafting Rightful from a friend of mine named Emma to whom the book is dedicated. We'd brainstorm Thyrena's character and escapades together.(less)

I like playing around with the idea of vastly different generational experiences intermingling. The idea for the humans of Midnight is that they live in an alternate world/universe that caters to the immortality of the elves. The humans who live on Mastinia aren't immortal, but they (can) live until around 500 years of age. Being a medieval lifestyle, not many actually do, but there are some. Monichet is almost 300, Das is over 400 years old.(less)

Who is your favorite character and why? I personally love Mave for how well she adapts to the many challenges life throws at her even when sometimes she has to change her dreams and plans for the future due to a crisis. Some of my friends complain about my killing off characters (I don't think its realistic for all the named people to survive a civil war) and Mave was always the invincible woman in my mind.
