My mother's maiden name was Pogrebiski. I was wondering if there was any relationship to your surname? My mother was born in Russia in 1918 and escaped to Romania and finally the US in 1927. I asked her to write her memoir, which she did, and last year I had it published. Sherry V. Ostroff

She died there before her surviving children (including my grandmother) came to the US via a ship to Ellis Island. I have not been able to find any records about this part of our family.
