I've seen a trigger warning about animal abuse in this book. Is this true? I'm very sensitive to that content and would like a warning before I start reading it.

I'm excited enough to continue reading the story - I'm at page 370 now - but I'm often confused when reading the flashbacks. Every time there's a flashback it takes me a while to realize whether it's Rosa or Jar talking. Have both their dads died? They seem to both talk to a dr. Lance and seem to have the same therapist, though Rosa knew her as Karen, and Jar as Kristen. Very confusing.

I'm not sure how to rate this book. It was good but to ma my unanswered questions. I would read another one of his books bistro see how another book goes. What does everyone else think?
