The action is set in 2013. Matthews gets digs in against real-world figures, most of whom are not directly named, including Obama (appears as unnamed US President who puts his feet on his desk), Stansfield Turner (characters remember with horror a Navy admiral turned CIA head who fired a ton of old hands), and Dianne Feinstein (a character loosely based on her becomes a candidate for CIA director).(less)

Although i suspected the ending of TKC given the nature of espionage. I thought the whole trilogy meshed very well together. (less)
