I feel guilty asking (sorry ma) but... Is this series very "preachy"? The Narnia books are too obvious in their attempts at salvations, and it's a turn off.

Is this an abridged version? I would like to find all of the complete books in one purchase, but the page numbers for this drastically differ for it being unabridged.

One edition of Lewis's "Out of the Silent Planet" trilogy contained a bonus transcript of a friendly discussion over whisky between Lewis and two other well-known SF writers/critics, I think Brian Aldiss and maybe Kingsley Amis? Not in any of the editions I now own; has anyone seen it?
