I started listening to the audiobook and wonder why the narrator uses a British accent if the story takes place in Nebraska and all of the characters are American. Can anyone explain it?

Tiffany Johnson Weirdest crap ever. Its making it very hard for me to get into the book because I have to remember we are talking about Nebraska not London.

We learn in the beginning of the story that the serial killer has killed a woman in a similar manner 30years ago (in 1987) and his spree began again. We never understand why he chose to start killing again. Also, why kill more in a short span of time?
