Yes, I think the problem with the Book is that it's just too long. I really liked the early chapters where Jo is hypnotised and regresses into the 12th Century becoming the mouthpiece of Matilda. Then the present day characters start manipulating Jo for their own ends and it gets too complicated for its own good. Gem of an ideal let down by over cleverness of the Author ?
