How were Ana and her mother able to fly from the USA to Cuba the spring of 2014? I thought flights from USA to Cuba were only permitted after Dec 2014 and then only for specific reasons.

I liked the idea of the parallel stories of the two 12 year old girls, Hannah and Anna. However, I think some of the over-long woebegone aspects could be eliminated, and we would still understand the horror of the story. (less)
