Can I read this without having read Broken Angels? I enjoyed Altered Carbon and I found a copy of Woken Furies lying around, and the bookstore doesn't have any used copies of Broken Angels.

Im about a third of the way through this book, can someone tell me what a Mimint is? I'm guessing it's some kind of military AI construct based on the nano tech from the second book - but would like clarification. Thanks!
