Having personally been to all the book's sites and sights and having Fitzpatrick's other books "The Transvaal from Within" and "South African Memories" there is more to the story than a first reading would reveal. Recently obtained a 1908 copy with his signature. Does anyone havehave any questions?

We lived an African bush life and the story describes our familiar with humour and understanding, powerfully sharing the writer's sense of adventure in every footstep. Even had we been townies or unfamiliar with southern Africa and not english-speaking, I'm sure we would have been enthralled as much as I was. I would love to revisit it.(less)
