Should you have read the earlier books in the series to really understand this one?

Is this more of a thriller than a romance? By the description it sounds like there are two different stories and neither of them a romance. I hate when books like this are labled romance when it's mostly a mystery with a little romance thrown in as an afterthought. So they can label it romance to broaden the customer base.

CC has had a wide customer romance base almost from the start --- it's the fiction/thriller readers that are the newer readers for her. :) However you care to view her writings, they are superb.(less)
